Planner/Scheduler Summary

This position will be responsible for coordinating the flow of work and materials within or between departments of the organization. As well as, ensuring that order due dates are met as well as maintaining control of all open pending orders.

Main Functional Responsibilities

  • Distribute work orders & maintain production schedules
  • Ensuring that the required material, equipment, and personnel are available to support daily production
  • Use Syteline ERP system to complete required material movements and research as required.
  • Replenish and return materials as needed per request, visual indicators, or if found defective.
  • Look for ways to constantly reduce inventories, manage kanbans, and assuring good communication among team members.
  • Apply continuous improvement methods to identify and reduce pick errors, process issues, and quality concerns.
  • Requistion and maintain inventories of materials or supplies necessary to meet production demands
  • Maintains an awareness of schedules and deadlines, adapts to changing work priorities throughout the shift.
  • Revise production schedules when required due to design changes, labor or material shortages, backlogs, or other interruptions, collaborating with management, marketing, sales, production, or engineering.
  • Prepare work orders for the assembly/packaging operations.
  • Reports all broken and malfunctioning equipment immediately.
  • Maintains a good record of attendance and punctuality as defined by APG’s policy. Records all time worked accurately and consistently using the timekeeping method provided by APG.
  • Willingly completes other duties as assigned.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

 

Work Environment

This job operates in an indoor setting. This role may routinely use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands

Role is rate “Computer Sedentary”

Work is primarily sedentary; needing to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

 

  • Ability to understand and follow detailed instructions.
  • Production & Processing – knowledge of raw material, production processes, quality control cost, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
  • Ability to understand planned order reports and open order reports generated by Syteline.
  • Ability to utilize Microsoft Office Suite, primarily excel
  • Ability to utilize Enterprise resource planning ERP software
  • Ability to problem solve & voice solution based ideas
  • Willingness to adhere to all organizational policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed

 

Education/Experience

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 2-4 years of production or warehouse experience
