Accounting Manager

The Accounting Manager position is an exciting opportunity for someone having deep experience in accounting, reporting, compliance, and managing a team. This highly motivated individual will report directly to the CFO, work closely with the Controller and can gain experience working directly with and presenting to the CEO and other members of the management team. The successful candidate will provide leadership and direction within the business and establish sound accounting processes consistent with the Company’s culture, strategic business objectives and continuous improvement/cost reduction efforts.

Main Functional Responsibilities

• Leads the general ledger accounting responsibilities including monthly close, account reconciliations/analysis including subledgers, tax compliance, reporting, internal control requirements and policies/procedures.
• Oversight responsibility of the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Cash Applications functions providing clear guidance, monitoring progress, and resolving issues. 
• Prepares daily cash reconciliations; conducts vendor payment trend reviews; manages freight payment process.
• Works closely with other functional groups; provides and monitors key financial data (i.e. open POs, unvouched receipts; unapplied cash; open credits, contract labor, etc.).
• Prepares and distributes credit card expense reporting.
• Advisor for accounting and reporting activities.
• Supports the formulation and implementation of a strong internal control environment within the organization.
• Ensures strict compliance with GAAP and other regulatory standards.
• Actively automates and streamlines processes, develops metrics and key performance indicators to measure/improve performance and develop initiatives for new, efficient policies and procedures.
• Manages financial information systems performance and capabilities with a total commitment to continual system improvement.
• Develops and mentors the accounting staff for career paths, cross training, and succession planning.
• Participates in external audits including financial statements, sales tax, bank audits, etc.
• Involved in financial, planning, and analysis activities including budgets, forecasts, cash flow, reporting, variance analysis, capital expenditures, etc.
• Participates in acquisition integration efforts.
• Performs other related projects for their successful completion.

Job Requirements

• 3-5 years of relevant experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• Working knowledge of GAAP
• CPA or candidate a plus
• ERP experience with Infor CloudSuite Industrial (SyteLine) preferred
• Proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
• Excellent communication skills required, both verbal and written
• Experience working with a high volume of transactions in a demanding environment
• Extremely high attention to detail
• Able to identify the need for and implement process improvements
• Excellent critical thinking skills and a dedicated team orientation with the ability to create motivation and support throughout the organization
• Self-motivated with the energy to creatively lead
• Able to see the big picture while keeping appropriate oversight over details
• Willing and able to “roll up sleeves” and get a job done when needed
• Manufacturing experience a plus
• Private equity-backed portfolio company experience a plus
• Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) integration experience a plus
